KALIBO, Aklan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Aklan has commenced the registration of children aged 1 to 4 years for the national ID system.

The process began on February 6 and is being conducted at PSA-Aklan’s Fixed Registration Center, as well as across various municipalities via mobile registration units.

Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Aklan, explained the strategy for the initiative, “We have deployed hired registration personnel to conduct this activity in schools and different Daycare Centers so that parents or guardians could easily access our service.”

Parents seeking to obtain a national ID for their children are advised to bring their PhilID or ePhilID and the child’s birth certificate to the registration site. Guardians must present an authorization letter from the parent and a valid ID of their own, along with the necessary documents.

Following registration, children will receive an ePhilID, and their PhilSys Number (PSN) will be synchronized with the PSN of their parent or guardian. The registration will gather demographic information such as sex, date and place of birth, blood type, address, nationality, mobile number, and a front-facing photograph of the child.

As of March 10, PSA Aklan has successfully registered a total of 3,535 children under the age of 5 in the PhilSys program.
