PHLPost Mobilizes Fleet for Typhoon Kristine Relief Efforts

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has mobilized its fleet to support relief efforts in Bicol following Typhoon Kristine, responding to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for enhanced disaster recovery operations.

On October 27, PHLPost dispatched three trucks loaded with essential supplies to assist communities ravaged by the typhoon. Two of the trucks carried 720 shelter tarpaulins, while the third transported 3,500 hygiene kits. Together, these deliveries amounted to an estimated 60 tons of supplies.

The relief goods are being transferred from Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo to Villamor Airbase in Pasay before being flown to Region 5, one of the hardest-hit areas by Typhoon Kristine. PHLPost’s logistical resources are crucial in ensuring the timely delivery of these supplies.

“In times of need, we are here to support our communities with all the resources we have,” said Postmaster General and CEO Luis D. Carlos. “Our mission at PHLPost extends beyond delivering mail; it is also about serving Filipinos, especially during critical times like these.”

This partnership with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) underscores PHLPost’s role not only as a national postal service but also as a vital responder during national emergencies.
