BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested 13 individuals and seized PHP 1,713,600 worth of suspected shabu in four separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from Dec. 20 to 21.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), through its City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), recorded the largest drug haul valued at PHP 1,135,600.

CDEU operatives arrested a 48-year-old woman and her 29-year-old son at Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, early Saturday. Authorities confiscated 100 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 680,000 during the operation.

Police Capt. Genus David, assistant CDEU chief, identified the son as “Tamtam.”

David said the operation was initiated after barangay officials reported the mother and son’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities. He added that a relative of the suspects had recently been apprehended for a drug-related offense.

Tamtam, considered a high-value individual (HVI), had previously been arrested on a warrant for acts of lasciviousness but was released on bail. His mother was categorized as a street-level individual (SLI).

In Barangay Tangub on Friday, CDEU operatives raided an alleged drug den, arresting six individuals and seizing 67 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 455,600.

David said 28-year-old “Yabyab” was the primary target of the operation, following reports from barangay officials about his alleged illegal activities.

The five other individuals were allegedly caught in a “pot session” during the operation. Yabyab was tagged as an HVI, while the others were categorized as SLIs.

Earlier on Friday, the BCPO arrested two individuals in Barangay 9, leading to the confiscation of 40 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 272,000. Police classified both suspects as SLIs.

Meanwhile, in E.B. Magalona town, three individuals, including a 19-year-old boy, were apprehended on Saturday in Barangay Nanca. Police seized 45 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 306,000.
