More than PHP12 million worth of shabu was seized during a weeklong series of anti-narcotics operations conducted by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 from September 9 to 15.
A total of 83 operations led to the arrest of 114 individuals, with 1.789 kilograms of shabu, valued at PHP12.1 million, confiscated.
These operations are part of PRO-6’s Birada Semana, an enhanced managing police operation (E-MPO) that focuses on anti-criminality, apprehending wanted persons, and addressing illegal drugs and gambling.
The recent shabu haul represents a 50.39% decrease from July’s operations, which seized 3.335 kilograms of shabu worth PHP12.166 million.
However, this month’s confiscation slightly surpassed August’s total of PHP11.250 million.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) topped the list, seizing 503 grams of shabu valued at PHP3.42 million, followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) with PHP3.19 million worth of confiscations.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), which led operations in July and August, confiscated 427 grams of shabu worth PHP2.91 million.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6), known for conducting high-value anti-narcotics operations, ranked sixth, seizing 60 grams of shabu valued at PHP408,000.
Other police offices that made significant confiscations include the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO), with 206 grams of shabu valued at PHP1.4 million, and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO), which seized 101.838 grams worth PHP692,498.
Rounding out the list were the Antique PPO (19 grams valued at PHP129,200), and the Guimaras and Aklan PPOs, which seized drugs worth PHP6,800.
Authorities continue to intensify their efforts to combat illegal drugs in the region through Birada Semana operations.
