BACOLOD CITY – A 51-year-old man and two young women were arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded 250 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 1.7 million at an inn in the Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Barangay Singcang-Airport, on Tuesday.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives identified the primary suspect as alias “Fredo,” a resident of Barangay Mansilingan. He was classified as a high-value individual.
Also apprehended were his alleged customers, alias “Shaba,” 23, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, and an 18-year-old woman from Barangay Mansilingan.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant chief of CDEU, stated that the women reportedly obtained illegal drugs from Fredo through cash or, in some cases, exchanged favors.
Legada revealed that authorities monitored Fredo’s illegal drug operations for a month before conducting the buy-bust operation.
The three suspects are currently detained at Police Station 8.
Meanwhile, in Negros Occidental, police confiscated PHP 344,828 worth of suspected shabu in three separate buy-bust operations on Monday.
In Victorias City, two barbers were arrested in Barangay 13 with 28 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 190,400. Authorities also seized an improvised tooter, aluminum foil, a straw, and PHP 500 in marked money.
In Silay City, a 43-year-old man was arrested in Barangay 2, where 12 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 81,600 were recovered.
In Escalante City, a 43-year-old businessman was apprehended in Barangay Old Poblacion with 10.71 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 72,828. Police also recovered one round of ammunition for a .357 caliber firearm.
