BACOLOD CITY – Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) seized a total of PHP3.91 million worth of suspected shabu in two separate buy-bust operations here over the weekend.
The first suspects arrested were alias “Bee,” 40, a mechanic from Barangay Singcang-Airport, and his companion “Erica,” 24, of Barangay Taculing.
Both allegedly yielded 125 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP850,000 in Barangay Cabug shortly before midnight on Saturday.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU chief, said Bee was previously arrested for a drug offense and has a pending arrest warrant for illegal drugs.
Bee was tagged as a high-value individual, while Erica was classified as a street-level suspect.
Early Sunday, police operatives arrested 50-year-old “Rodolfo” of Barangay Taculing after confiscating 450 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP3.06 million in Barangay Banago.
Legada said the suspect, also classified as a high-value individual, was arrested for illegal possession of firearms in 2016 and was released in 2019.
He clarified that the two buy-bust operations were not connected and will be investigated separately.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 Special Enforcement Team Bravo dismantled an alleged drug den and arrested six suspects in a drug bust in Barangay 8 on Thursday.
The operation led to the seizure of 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP102,000, along with lighters and five plastic tooters.
