BACOLOD CITY — Authorities seized PHP442,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested three individuals, including an alleged gang member, in separate operations in Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
In Manapla town, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental apprehended a 34-year-old fish supplier, identified as alias “Jay-R,” in a drug bust in Barangay Punta Mesa. The operation led to the confiscation of eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing 22 grams with a street value of PHP149,600, PHP500 in marked money, and PHP730 in cash.
In Kabankalan City, police arrested a 27-year-old man known as “Pol” in Barangay 3. According to authorities, he is an alleged member of a criminal gang. Operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) recovered six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 18 grams, worth PHP122,400, along with PHP500 in marked money.
In Pontevedra town, 63-year-old “Nida” was arrested in Barangay Miranda after authorities seized nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 25 grams and valued at PHP170,000. Operatives also confiscated PHP500 in marked money and PHP400 in cash.
The successful operations highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal drug activities in Negros Occidental.
