BACOLOD City – Philippines Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach joined the celebration of this year’s Ruby MassKara Festival, as she witnessed the grand finals of the “Nights of Mardi Gras” held at the Bacolod public plaza Thursday, October 24.
The “Nights of Mardigras” is a fantasy costume competition which is one of the highlights of the Ruby MassKara celebration.
The participants flaunted their fantasy costumes at the streets of the public plaza, where revelers get a chance to take photos with them.
They also held a parade at the Bacolod City Government Center on the second night of the competition.
Out of the 16 participants, only five of them stood out and won in the said competition.
This year’s champion is Elona Wilis.
First runner-up is Christy Jean Española, second runner-up is Sam Basci, third runner-up is Jun Rey Garcia, and fourth runner-up is Dinavher Mcqueen.
Meanwhile, according to Wurtzbach on her Instagram story, she‘s at the “City of Smiles” to film and feature the festival as part of her episodes in Pia’s postcards streamed @metrochannelph.
She’s filming the festival along with fellow beauty queen, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz who was among the invited judges for the Ruby MassKara Queen 2019 pageant and coronation night held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central here last October 23.
Wurtzbach was invited by Bacolod Representative Greg Gasataya, who was also present during the said event.
