PLDT Enterprise has significantly enhanced internet services for the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) field offices in Region 6, ensuring robust and reliable connectivity for the upcoming elections in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.
In response to connectivity challenges faced by COMELEC Region 6, PLDT Enterprise deployed Enterprise Broadband Static, addressing the need for effective communication and timely reporting across field offices.
The upgrade is expected to streamline daily operations and improve the overall electoral process.
“Ensuring seamless and secure communication within COMELEC’s regional operations is imperative, especially right before, during, and after the election period,” said Ma. Hazel D. Amoyan, Business Head at PLDT Enterprise.
“Our partnership with COMELEC Region 6 is a reflection of PLDT Enterprise’s dedication to supporting key government functions, ensuring that every phase of the election process is underpinned by reliable and high-speed connectivity.”
The improved fiber optic infrastructure facilitates essential tasks such as updating voter databases, internal communications, and dissemination of election-related information.
The enhanced connectivity is crucial for COMELEC Region 6, allowing for efficient data management and seamless collaboration across municipalities.
Atty. Dennis Ausan, Regional Election Director of COMELEC Region 6, highlighted the transformation, saying, “The support from PLDT Enterprise has been instrumental in transforming the way our offices operate. High-speed internet is no longer a luxury but a necessity for conducting transparent and efficient elections. Through this partnership, our field offices are better equipped than ever to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.”
