ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police have persons of interest in the shooting to death of a 34-year-old farmer at Barangay Tina, Dumarao town Sunday.

Police Lt. Bonifacio Galvez, Dumarao PNP chief, said they have leads on the suspects who shot dead Noel Sarceno, 34, of said place.

But Galvez refused to reveal the identities as the investigation is ongoing.

He said Sarceno has a pending case for killing two persons which could be the motive behind the incident.

The victim then drew an unidentified caliber of firearm and pointed it at Nestor Venecio and Razel Acejo, who were also at the wake.

Sarceno squeezed the trigger but the gun went dud.

The victim then hurriedly left the wake, but he was shot by unidentified persons a few meters away from the house.

Sarceno succumbed to gunshot wounds and brought to Sara District Hospital in Iloilo.

Police recovered from the scene a homemade 12-guage shotgun, a live bullet, 5 cartridges of caliber .45 ammunition, and a deformed slug of unidentified caliber of firearm.
