BACOLOD CITY – Senator Robin Padilla and artist Ice Seguerra are set to take center stage at the Negros Press Club (NPC) induction ceremony this year.
The event, themed “NPC @ 88: Still the Vanguard of Truth,” is scheduled for 6 PM on Saturday, April 6, at the SMX Convention Center, SM City-Bacolod.
Chairman of the Senate’s committee on public information and mass media, Padilla will formally induct Erwin “Ambo” Delilan, a columnist and regional news correspondent, as the new president of NPC.
The responsibility of inducting additional officers has been given to Bacolod City’s Lone District Congressman Greg Gasataya.
These officers include Nida Buenafe as vice president, Lourd John Diaz as secretary, Nanette Guaralquiver as treasurer, and other directors from various local media organizations.
The ceremony will also welcome 18 new members from diverse media sectors, with the oath of office to be conducted by Delilan.
High-profile attendees, including Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, and Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, are expected to deliver speeches.
Seguerra is slated to perform in a mini-concert, adding a musical highlight to the evening.
NPC currently boasts a robust membership of 150 from both traditional and digital media platforms.
