PRO-6 boosts ICT capabilities with new equipment

In an effort to enhance the operational efficiency of its units, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has distributed approximately 1.3 million pesos worth of Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment.

The distribution, led by Police Brigadier Gen Jack L. Wanky, the police director of Western Visayas, took place during the flag-raising ceremony at Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado here on May 6, 2024.

The new equipment includes a Fortinet Range Series Network Firewall, six Starlink Kits, six desktop computers with licensed operating systems and antivirus software, two safety full body harnesses with helmets, a 24-foot fiberglass ladder, four 2MP CCTV cameras with accessories, a fiber optic fusion splicer, and three 3-in-1 L3210 printers.

These tools were allocated to various units including the Guimaras Police Provincial Office, Regional Operations Division, Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division, and the Regional Information and Communication Technology Management Division.

“May these items and equipment boost your office’s capabilities and will make our personnel work easier, faster, and will contribute to better services to our clientele,” Wanky said during the ceremony.

In addition to the equipment distribution, the ceremony was also a moment of recognition for exemplary police personnel.

Medals were awarded to select officers for their noteworthy achievements. Police Lieutenant Colonel Lumyaen D. Lidawan and Police Corporal Mark Vincent S. Vega, both from the Capiz Police Provincial Office, received the Medalya ng Kadakilaan, or the PNP Heroism Medal.

Meanwhile, Police Captain Roque C. Gimeno III and Patrolwoman Jellyn N. Guarin from Police Station 1, Iloilo City Police Office, were honored with the Medalya ng Kagalingan, or the PNP Merit Medal.

“Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. May your actions towards your sworn duty serve as an inspiration to our colleagues to always perform better and be determined to surpass their previous accomplishments,” PBGen Wanky added, praising the awardees.
