The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 has formally recognized outstanding police units and individuals during the 121st Police Service Anniversary (PSA) celebration at the PRO-6 headquarters in Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City on Sept 15.
Observed all over the country, “giving honors to personnel and units who did well is the essence of the activity,” according to Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, said.
Francisco added that those who were chosen to receive awards went through rigid evaluation and assessment.
This year’s PSA celebration adopted the theme, “Matibay na Ugnayan ng Pulisya at Mamamayan tungo sa Pagkakaisa, Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran.”
Major General Benjamin Santos Jr., acting Deputy Chief PNP for Operations, was the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHS).
Santos said the celebration is about the commemoration of the PNP’s rich and colorful history of public service.
“We take pride not only in the fine tradition of law enforcement but also the saga of courage, sacrifices, and the triumphs of the gallant police officers of PRO-6 that constantly inspire and remind the community of the best and finest of police service,” Santos said.

Santos said the challenge of the PNP is for the personnel to continue and strengthen their public service as law enforcers.
“Be loyal and true to our sworn duty of serving and protecting the people. Let us always ensure that the judicious use of authority shall be grounded on the respect for human dignity, accountability, transparency, integrity, rule of law and democratic governance,” he said.
Santos stressed that the level of commitment and dedication to your service is instrumental in our tireless pursuit of regaining the trust and confidence of the Filipino people.
“Life is beautiful, ang kaligtasan nang ating mamamayan ay sagot natin, this is the main reason why the whole PNP organization is here to adhere the performance of our sworn duties and responsibilities in combatting all the threat of COVID-19, criminalities, illegal drugs, insurgency and terrorism,” he said.
