The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 awarded medals to deserving PNP personnel during the Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Gen Martin Teofilo B Delgado, Iloilo City on June 27.
The PNP Merit Medal or the Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded to Police Major Ramel Sarona and Police Corporal Raffy T Gregorio of Bacolod City Police Station 1 for the buy-bust operation at Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14, Bacolod City that resulted in the arrest of Eliseo Torabilla and Oliver Jumayao.
Meanwhile, the PNP Commendation Medal or the Medalya ng Papuri was awarded to the following personnel;
Police Major Syril Punzalan and Police Corporal Isaiah Don T Bornales of Pontevedra Municipal Police Station for the successful arrest of Belton James Besa at Barangay Ilawod, Pontevedra, Capiz on August 6, 2021 for a qualified theft charge;
Police Lieutenant Paul Joseph Oberio and Police Staff Sergeant John S Galan of Lauan Municipal Police Station for the successful arrest of Julio D. Samillano, a most wanted person facing a murder case at Muñoz Public Market, Quezon City; and
Police Lieutenant Benjamin Cabrillos and Police Staff Sergeant John Nemart T Mandolado of the Regional Maritime Unit 6 and Culasi Municipal Police Station for arresting Victor Mansueto and Jehassie Torreon on June 6, 2022 at Barangay Poblacion, Culasi, Antique.
The awards were pinned by Police Colonel Martin E Defensor, Jr., PRO-6, Deputy Regional Director for Operations.
Defensor congratulated all the awardees for their exemplary performance to duty exhibited that worthy of emulation by all PNP personnel.
In attendance during the activity were PRO-6 Command Group, Regional and Special Staff, and PRO-6 and National Support Units personnel.
