Different units of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 375 wanted persons in January 2022.
Among those arrested were 70 most wanted persons (MWP), or those persons in the most wanted list, and 305 were other wanted persons (OWPs)
The province of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) captured the most number of most wanted (29) and other most wanted persons (142).
Iloilo PPO nabbed 16 MWPs and 55 OWPs while Bacolod City PO arrested 13 MWPs and 41 OWPs; Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) nabbed 6 MWPs and 11 OWPs; Capiz PPO, 4 MWPs and 16 OWPs; Antique PPO, 1 MWP and 7 OWPs.
Guimaras PPO only arrested 5 OWPs while the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group- Regional Field Unit 6 arrested 1 MWPs and 14 OWPs.
In a PRO-6 statement, Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, Western Visayas police chief, commended different police units in Western Visayas for their continuous effort against wanted persons.
“Congratulations! Ipagpatuloy lang natin ang pag-monitor at pag huli ng mga indibidwal na may mga warrants of arrest para hindi na sila makagawa ng karagdagang krimen at kaguluhan sa kanilang lugar at magiging tahimik narin ang kanilang lokalidad,” the statement added.
He also called on police officers in the region to strengthen their collaboration with the barangay officials, force multipliers, and advocacy support groups.
Dongbo also urged unit commanders and members of the tracker teams to run after fugitives from the law, especially those who are deemed as threats to the region’s peace and order.
