Police Regional Office 6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Rene P Pamuspusan headed the joint opening ceremony of two workshops in La Carmela de Boracay Function Hall Friday.

The Crime Scene First Responders Workshop and Scientific Methods of Processing Fingerprint and DNA Reference Sample Collection Seminar-Workshop was officiated by Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division and attended by 50 participants assigned to the province of Aklan.

Crime Scene First Responders Workshop is designed to provide information pertinent to the responsibilities of the first responder to the crime scenes.

Meanwhile, the Scientific Methods of Processing Fingerprint and DNA Reference Sample Collection Seminar-Workshop is designed to train field investigators on the proper taking of tenprints, collection of latent prints and the basics in collecting DNA samples.

Both trainings are deemed to support the important parts of a scientific investigation. Further, this intends to equip police officers with skills, upgrade their knowledge and enhance the performance of their duties as police officers.

This program is under the PRO6’s strategic direction under the sustained reformation-Human Resource wherein personnel are trained as part of their qualification for a position.

According to Pamuspusan, PRO6 is conducting more investigation training in line with the chief, PNP’s directive that every police officer must be an investigator.

“Through this training we are assured that we are putting the right person at the right job,” Pamuspusan said.
