The Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) two-day operations against illegal drugs from May 14-15, 2024, resulted in the seizure of approximately 813 grams of suspected shabu worth Php 5.5 million and 20,000 grams of marijuana valued at Php2.4 million.
The operations recorded 13 police activities, leading to the arrest of 16 individuals involved in illegal drug peddling. Of the 16 arrests, six were identified as high-value individuals (HVIs) while ten were classified as street-level individuals.
Among the 13 police operations, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office conducted five operations, confiscating about 35 grams of shabu and 20,000 grams of marijuana. The Iloilo City Police Office carried out four operations, seizing 158 grams of shabu.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU6) conducted three operations, seizing approximately 560 grams of shabu. The Iloilo Police Provincial Office conducted one operation, seizing around 60 grams of shabu.
The largest drug haul during the two-day operation was the confiscation of approximately 320 grams of shabu, worth Php2,176,000.00, and the arrest of two persons at Brgy. Jibao-an Pavia, Iloilo on the evening of May 15, 2024. The RPDEU6 led the operation.
Additionally, the San Carlos Component City Police Station discovered a marijuana plantation and recovered almost 20 kilograms of marijuana, valued at Php2.4 million, arresting two individuals at Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on May 14, 2024, around 5:16 p.m.
PRO-6 head, Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, praised the operatives for their significant accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“The seizure of these illegal drugs speaks of the dedication and hard work of our operatives on the ground. Let us remain united and connected with the community and other agencies as we intensify our endeavors to eradicate this society’s menace,” said PBGen Wanky.
