Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, head of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), commended the personnel of the San Carlos Component City Police Station and supporting units for successfully confiscating about 20 kilos of marijuana plants valued at P2.4 million on May 14, 2024, in Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
“Keep up the good work. This was the product of your hard work. Continue the intensity of our campaign against illegal drugs,” PBGen Wanky said.
The suspects, identified as alias “Jo” and alias “Lito,” were caught in the act of cultivating the marijuana plants.
During the operation, the following items were recovered:
– 142 marijuana plants
– One .45 caliber pistol
– One .45 caliber magazine
– Three .45 caliber live ammunition
– Other non-drug items
The firearm was seized from alias “Lito.”
The suspects are currently in the custody of the San Carlos Component City Police Station and will be charged with violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591.
