The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has seized illegal drugs valued at nearly P8.8 million in a weeklong crackdown.

From April 20 to 26, operations across various units led to the confiscation of approximately 1.292 kilograms of suspected shabu and 5 grams of marijuana, with the shabu alone priced at P8,785,600.

“The 36 anti-illegal drug operations have led to the apprehension of 42 individuals involved in drug activities,” said Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, spokesperson for PRO-6. Seven are high-value targets, while 35 are street-level pushers.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 made the largest single seizure with 565 grams.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) collected 293 grams, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with 219 grams.

Contrastingly, the Negros Occidental PPO netted only 24 grams, and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) obtained 138 grams.

The Antique Police Provincial Office (AkPPO) and the Guimaras PPO each seized 20 grams, while the Capiz Police Provincial Office secured 13 grams of shabu and all of the marijuana.

A notable operation by RPDEU on April 23 led to the arrest of two individuals, alias Mico and alias Ryan, who possessed over P2.6 million worth of shabu.

The two natives of Molo, Iloilo City were nabbed in a buy-bust operation along the conferential road at Barangay San Jose, Arevalo, Iloilo at around 11:50 p.m. on April 23.

“These concerted efforts are integral to PRO-6’s commitment to public safety and the eradication of illegal narcotics in the region,” Solis explained.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the police chief for Western Visayas, commended the PRO-6 personnel for their unwavering dedication and contributions towards a drug-free region, encouraging them to sustain their efforts.
