The city government of Iloilo has launched an investigation into a viral video showing an alleged drunk driver operating a marked vehicle from the City Engineer’s Office (CEO).

The incident, which reportedly occurred on Thursday night, March 27, involved a white pickup truck bearing the official logo of the Iloilo City government.

Footage circulating on social media shows the driver, identified as a City Hall employee, engaging in reckless behavior while appearing intoxicated.

Passengers in the vehicle were also allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas said he immediately directed the CEO to conduct a formal investigation into the matter.

He emphasized his administration’s commitment to accountability and the responsible use of government resources.

“Let me be clear—under my administration, any government personnel found violating the law or abusing government resources will be held accountable,” Treñas said in a statement on Friday, March 28.

“We will not tolerate the misuse of government equipment and vehicles,” he added.

He also assured the public that any personnel found guilty of misconduct will face appropriate disciplinary action.
