A theft occurred at the Legal Office of the Provincial Capitol while employees attended the flag-raising ceremony on Monday morning, May 6.

“While we are busy in the flag ceremony, which we sponsored, we normally do not lock the office, and based on the footage from our closed-circuit television (CCTV), someone entered the office,” Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, head of the legal department, said in an interview.

Ventilacion said several personal items, including cash and gadgets belonging to two employees of the legal department were stolen. They are yet to ascertain the total amount of the items robbed

According to the CCTV footage, a female suspect wearing a facemask entered the office premises at 7:59 a.m.

The woman carried a bag and a cellphone, which she then placed inside a knapsack.

At 8:02 AM, the suspect was seen leaving through the exit near the Museo Iloilo.

The stolen items reportedly belonged to a female employee of the provincial legal office.

Ventilacion mentioned that during his conversation with Aaron Raymundo, Provincial Government Assistant Head and OIC for Safety and Security, they discussed implementing measures such as restricting access to the office to aid in a thorough investigation into the incident.

“Raymundo also mentioned that vendors will also be barred from entering government offices to ensure employee safety,” he added.
