KALIBO, Aklan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan has intensified its campaign to promote the acceptance of the National ID as a valid proof of identity for transactions in both public and private offices.
As part of this effort, the PSA Aklan Provincial Office has been distributing National ID stickers and informational leaflets to relying parties across the province.
Relying parties include local and national government offices, schools, private establishments, banks, and remittance centers that recognize the National ID as a valid identification document.
The distributed stickers, prominently displayed in participating establishments, indicate that the National ID, in its card, paper, or digital format, is accepted for identity verification.
As of January 16, 2025, PSA Aklan has distributed 138 National ID stickers and 488 leaflets to various offices, schools, banks, and remittance centers. These materials reinforce the acceptance and use of the National ID in transactions.
“By posting these stickers in conspicuous places within office buildings, we can enhance awareness about the validity and importance of the National ID,” said Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Aklan.
In addition to distributing materials, PSA Aklan continues to conduct awareness campaigns, including social media posts, radio guest appearances, and other information, education, and communication (IEC) activities. These efforts aim to inform the public about the benefits and uses of the National ID.
The National ID simplifies transactions with government and private institutions by enabling faster and more efficient identity verification and authentication.
All three formats of the National ID—card, paper, and digital—can be verified through the “National ID Check” tool available at https://everify.gov.ph/check.
