PSA awards community data to San Enrique, Alimodian towns

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo has awarded Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data to the municipalities of San Enrique and Alimodian.

The Data Turnover Ceremonies (DTC) were held on May 17 in San Enrique and May 23 in Alimodian.

The ceremony in San Enrique took place at the Municipal Culture, History, Arts, and Tourism Office Function Hall, while Alimodian held their event at the Diversion 21 Hotel in Iloilo City.

Both local government units were part of the 2023 CBMS roll-out.

The turnover symbolizes the PSA’s commitment to collaborating with local governments to ensure effective planning, policy-making, and impact monitoring using the collected data.

The PSA also emphasized their dedication to data security.

Nelida Amolar, Office-in-Charge of the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office VI, led the turnover ceremonies. In San Enrique, Sangguniang Bayan Member Susan Villalobos received the data on behalf of Municipal Mayor Rosario Mediatrix Fernandez.

In Alimodian, Municipal Mayor Ian Kenneth Alfeche accepted the data. The events were attended by CBMS Coordinating Board Members, Sangguniang Bayan Members, and department heads from each municipality, along with PSA Iloilo CBMS personnel.

The data presented included household and barangay profiles, covering electricity, internet access, water supply, toilet facilities, safety, food insecurity, and disaster preparedness.

These insights are expected to guide local government units in their planning and policy-making efforts.
