THE Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI) celebrates the Civil Registration Month (CRM) this February 2019 with the theme Inclusive and responsive CRVS: Working smarter through Innovation that emphasizes on continuously improving the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics of the country.
Importance and uses of civil registry documents and governing laws will be shared through information dissemination activities such as hanging of streamers, information drives, symposia, distribution of flyers and primers to various schools, barangays, National Government Agencies, and to the public in Region VI.
Mobile registrations and mass weddings in coordination with city/municipal civil registrars will also be conducted regionwide.
Aside from raising public awareness on the importance of civil registration, PSA VI will have in-house contests like Oratorical (Talumpati), Poster Making, Slogan Making and Civil Registration Quiz Bee on February 27-28, 2019 for provincial eliminations and culminates on March 1, 2019 for the regional championship at PSA Regional Office VI, Iloilo City.
The celebration is pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 682 issued by then President Corazon Aquino on January 28, 1991 declaring the month of February as the month of Civil Registration.
