SS II Annalyn Solinap discussing 2024 PopCen-CBMS Form 5 to barangay personnel of the municipality of San Enrique, Iloilo.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo commenced the first phase of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (PopCen-CBMS) field operations on May 6, 2024, focusing on the Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ) data collection and Service Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP) listing.

The BPQ and SFGP listing aim to gather information on barangay characteristics, facilities, and establishments, and to create an initial list of service facilities and government projects for reference in the 2024 PopCen-CBMS geotagging operations.

PSA Iloilo conducted orientations across the cities and municipalities of Iloilo, requiring each barangay to send a knowledgeable representative, preferably the Barangay Secretary.

Participants brought their Barangay Profile, Barangay Investments Plan, and Barangay Development Plan to base their answers on.

The orientation included a workshop to train barangay personnel, ensuring minimal errors and complete data submission in the questionnaires.

An overview of the 2024 PopCen-CBMS was discussed, along with information on the upcoming Household Profile Questionnaire (HPQ) data collection.

PSA emphasized the crucial role of Barangay LGU cooperation and support for the successful implementation of the 2024 PopCen-CBMS.
