PSA Iloilo to conduct 2023 Second Visit FIES in  January 2024

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo conducted the Third Level Training for 100 Hired Statistical Researchers for the 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and its rider, the Second Visit 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES), at Punta Villa Resort Inc, Sto. Niño Sur in Arevalo, Iloilo City.

The LFS is a nationwide survey of households conducted by PSA to gather data   on the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population. Data from the survey provides information on major labor market trends such as labor force participation and unemployment rates, hours worked, past industries and occupations of currently unemployed persons.

Meanwhile, FIES is the main source of data on family income and expenditure in the Philippines that provides basic source of information for:

-the estimation of the household account in the System of National Accounts and balances, measurement of the Human Development Index (HDI),

-measurement of poverty, and

-measurement levels of living of different sections of the population and disparities in levels of living across geographical regions and socio-economic groups and for inter-temporal comparisons of these levels and disparities.

The third level training started on January 3, 2023 and will end on January 9, 2023.

The hired Statistical Researchers will be assigned in different municipalities/cities in Iloilo (including Iloilo City) and will start on January 10, 2024.
