PSA Launches 2024 Business, ICT Surveys Nationwide

A PSA statistical researcher interviews a representative of a sample establishment in Aklan for the 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry and the 2024 Survey on Information and Communications Technology, which began nationwide in April 2025.

KALIBO, Aklan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan has announced the rollout of the 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and the 2024 Survey on Information and Communications Technology (SICT), which started in April 2025.

These nationwide surveys aim to generate vital data on the performance, structure, and trends of economic activities in the Philippines.

The ASPBI is a designated statistical activity conducted annually by the PSA to gauge and compare the country’s economic growth at both national and regional levels.

The survey gathers information on establishments’ characteristics, employment, revenue, expenses, assets, and inventories.

Collected data will guide policymakers, government planners, researchers, and the business sector in developing strategies that support national development.

Simultaneously, the PSA is conducting the 2024 SICT to assess the availability, use, and integration of information and communications technologies among establishments.

The SICT collects data on computer usage, internet connectivity, website ownership, and the adoption of digital platforms and tools to measure progress in digital transformation.

In Aklan, four hired statistical researchers and three provincial staff were deployed to administer the ASPBI to 296 sample establishments.

Of these, 178 will also respond to the SICT questionnaire.

The selected private establishments operate in both the formal and informal sectors, covering industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, trade, finance, real estate, transportation, and services.

The PSA urges selected establishments to provide complete and accurate information.

All data will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with Republic Act 10625 (Philippine Statistical Act of 2013) and Republic Act 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012).

Engr. Antonet Catubuan, chief statistical specialist of PSA Aklan, appealed to the business community to support the successful conduct of the surveys.

She said participation contributes to building a reliable statistical database that serves all sectors of Philippine society.
