The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO) 6 led the culminating activity for the Civil Registration Month on February 26, 2021.
Various activities were lined up for the celebration which included the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Quiz Bee, E-Poster Making Contest and Lecture on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics.
The CRVS Quiz Bee had two categories – one for the Local Civil Registrar personnel that won in the provincial elimination and the other category was for PSA personnel and staff.
This competition aimed to encourage awareness and enhance their knowledge on the importance of Civil Registration and Laws.
In the LCRO category, the municipality of Buenavista, Guimaras represented by Ms. Robyn Lois P. Gaylan was declared champion and will be the representative of Region VI in the 2022 National CRVS Quiz Bee.
The 1st runner-up was Ms. Marivel Gargalicana of Iloilo City followed by Mr. Elery G. Balgos from the Municipality of Dao who placed 2nd runner-up.
Mr. Michael C. Espargo of Jordan, Guimaras placed 3rd runner-up followed by Ms. Maria Rosario Palomo of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Ms. Shirlyn B. Hortillosa of Iloilo Provincial Statistics Office topped the CRM Quiz Bee among PSA personnel followed by Ms. Rachel S. Cabador of Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division (CRASD) who landed as 1st runner-up and Ms. Rovelyn M. Llamas of Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD) as 2nd runner-up.
The winners received cash prize and certificate of appreciation.
To further encourage and promote the celebration of 31st Civil Registration Month, PSA-RSSO VI held an E-Poster making Contest which was participated by its provincial offices.
The activity aimed to let participants use their knowledge and creativity in coming up with an entry that conveys this year’s Civil Registration Month theme and to raise public awareness on the importance of Civil Registration.
Iloilo Provincial Statistics Office landed 1st place, followed by Guimaras Provincial Statistics Office and Aklan Provincial Statistics Office who ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
Certificates and prizes were handed to the winners by Regional Director Fred S. Sollesta.
The culminating activity ended with the closing remarks of RD Sollesta who thanked everyone for making the celebration a success despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic.
