PSA RSSO VI Launches 35th CRM With Motorcade and Ceremony

The 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) officially began on Feb. 3, 2025, at Robinsons Place Jaro, Iloilo City, with a motorcade and opening ceremony led by the Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI), under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Nelida C. Amolar.

With the theme “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System,” the event highlighted the strong collaboration between regional line agencies and local government units (LGUs) in advancing a civil registration system that is responsive, adaptable, and continuously evolving to meet public needs.

The event commenced with a lively motorcade, featuring the active participation of members of the Regional Interagency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (RIACCRVS) in Western Visayas.

This was followed by an opening program at Robinsons Place Jaro, where OIC Regional Director Amolar delivered a message on the importance of accurate and timely registration in safeguarding individual rights and ensuring access to essential services. She also introduced PSA services, including the mobile Civil Registry System (CRS), which enables clients to obtain their civil registry documents on-site.

Adding an energetic touch to the celebration, PSA RSSO VI personnel led a Zumba session, accompanied by the PSA and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) jingle. Following this, Supervising Statistical Specialist Ma. Goretti M. Novilla delivered an insightful presentation on vital statistics in Western Visayas.

OIC Regional Director Amolar officially declared the 2025 Civil Registration Month celebration open, marking the beginning of a month-long initiative to raise awareness of the vital role civil registration plays in society. Chief Administrative Officer William G. Jaro closed the event by expressing his gratitude to all participants for their unwavering support in promoting civil registration awareness.

As part of the celebration, PSA RSSO VI set up a mobile CRS booth at the activity center, allowing mallgoers to conveniently request and obtain their civil registry documents on-site.

Additionally, the Regional Alternative Child Care Office VI (RACCO VI) established a booth offering consultations on adoption and alternative childcare options, providing valuable guidance to families and individuals interested in adoption procedures. These services were available from Feb. 3 to 5, 2025.

The opening of CRM 2025 underscored the continued commitment to strengthening the civil registration system and reinforcing its importance in protecting individual rights and ensuring access to essential services.
