The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has decided to let their national athletes evacuate the dorm facilities and go to their respective homes for the meantime.
To protect their athletes and coaches amid the COVID-19 scare, PSC officials announced the decision, saying that it will be better to be safe than sorry.
The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC), and the Philsports Complex, PSC’s two major facilities, were placed under restriction following the announcement.
PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez also sought the aid of various national sports associations regarding their players’ training with the ongoing coronavirus cases in the country.
Ramirez emphasized that he already asked for advice as to the steps they need to do regarding PH’s athletes’ training to still become productive amid the issue.
We have to be pro-active in this situation and take these hard decisions for the safety of our athletes and employees,” said PSC chairman Ramirez.
