The lone officer of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) who was earlier classified as person under investigation (PUI) for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has completed his mandatory 14-day home quarantine.
Thus, as of March 31, 2020, PRO-6 reported that none of its officers are considered as a PUI.
The policeman was earlier classified as PUI because he lives near the residence of the 61-year-old female from Mandurriao district who tested positive for COVID-19.
Also, from 110 police personnel in the region, the number of persons under monitoring (PUMs) was slashed by half.
“Half of them were already done with their mandatory quarantine,” Malong said.
PUMs are persons with travel history to places with confirmed local transmission but are asymptomatic.
PUIs are individuals who travelled to places with cases of COVID-19 or were exposed to a positive case and manifested signs and symptoms of the disease.
As of Tuesday, PUM-policemen in the region are at 55.
Ten each are assigned to the PNP Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU) and the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO); nine to Iloilo City PO; seven to Aklan PPO; five to Iloilo PPO; three in Antique PPO; two each in PRO-6 regional headquarters, Guimaras PPO and Negros Occidental PPO.
There is only one PUM from Bacolod City PO and none from the PNP Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit.
Malong earlier said most of the officers travelled to Manila, where scores of COVID-19 positive cases were reported.
As of March 29, PRO-6 records showed there are 3,933 personnel who are deployed to help curb COVID-19. One third of them, or 33.91 percent, are in Iloilo province with 1,334.
Meanwhile, Negros Occidental PPO has deployed 787 policemen; Capiz PPO with 550; Aklan PPO with 282; Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB-6) with 278; Iloilo City with 252; Bacolod City with 252; Antique PPO with 148; and Guimaras PPO with 68.
PRO-6 has 4,245 personnel who are considered as “deployable reserve.”
