Bea De Leon and Denden Lazaro-Revilla headlined another Premier Volleyball League (PVL) team switch buzz as they are set to leave the Choco Mucho Flying Titans confirmed last January 4, 2024.
According to multiple sources including the Inquirer Sports and Spin.ph, the veteran duo will be taking their talents to their sister franchise, the Creamline Cool Smashers.
This came after the duo has been involved in several rumors that they will not be staying under the Choco Mucho franchise and seek another team amid the holiday season.
The rumors were then proven to be true as De Leon and Revilla are set for a stunning transfer to the team that beat them during the grand finals of the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Despite a limited playing time, De Leon still showed her efficiency when her number got called up by Choco Mucho head coach Dante Alinsunurin.
Meanwhile, Revilla, one of the most experienced liberos in the PVL, will reunite with her former college teammates Alyssa Valdez and Ella De Jesus.
The trio already marked their names in the history of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) women’s volleyball history after delivering several championship titles to the school in the UAAP and other pocket leagues.
With another defensive talent Creamline acquired in De Leon, the franchise is slowly filling the void that former middle blocker Ced Domingo left after she agreed to a contract in Japan.
De Leon will now be working as a unit with Michele Gumabao, Risa Sato, and Pangs Panaga as the squad’s main defensive unit.
On the other hand, Revilla will be mentoring Creamline’s prime libero, Kyle Atienza, while also turning back the hands of time with her former Ateneo teammate De Jesus.
Can De Leon and Revilla boost Creamline’s campaign for another PVL conference title? Will they fit under the system of head coach Sherwin Meneses?
