PVL: Creamline makes quick work of Strong Group to remain undefeated

Dominance at its finest. Creamline is still undefeated in four games (PVL)

The Creamline Cool Smashers had another walk in the park after overpowering the Strong Group Athletics, 25-13, 25-13, 25-19, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on March 12, 2024, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

With the dominant win, the Cool Smashers now take the solo lead in the PVL team standings after raising their record to four wins without a single loss.

Just like their lopsided victory over the Galeries Tower Highrisers a week ago, the Cool Smashers picked up where they left off and pulled off another masterclass in front of their fans.

Bernadeth Pons stepped up for the league-leading Creamline squad after tallying 12 points built from 10 successful attacks including two service aces.

However, it wasn’t only Pons who delivered most of the Creamline attack as head coach Sherwin Meneses was able to utilize his second unit in the entire game.

With the goal of building more team chemistry due to some additions to their roster, the Cool Smashers got what they wanted as 11 players were fielded inside the playing court.

Creamline immediately sucked the life out of Strong Group after kicking off the opening set with a commanding 15-1 start.

From that moment, the Cool Smashers just continued to roll and pick Strong Group apart with their balanced offense and tight defensive pressure.

Alyssa Valdez also showed flashes of her attacking brilliance despite a limited playing time, dropping nine markers derived from seven successful attacks.

Bea De Leon and Dij Rodriguez, two of the newest members of the Cool Smashers, each chipped in five points in the win.

Creamline will look to extend its untainted winning streak to five straight games on March 16, 2024, as they take on the Chery Tiggo Crossovers at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex.
