The PLDT High-Speed Hitters tamed the Farm Fresh Foxies in a sweeping fashion, 25-9, 25-13, 25-21, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on March 23, 2024, at the Ynares Center.

After a morale-boosting five-set win over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans a week ago, the High-Speed Hitters showed no signs of slowing down and schooled the young Farm Fresh team to improve their PVL record to five wins and a loss.

It didn’t take long for PLDT to heat up in the matchup after their defense helped them take full control of the game midway through the first set.

After swatting away three straight Farm Fresh spike attempts, the High-Speed Hitters suddenly were pumped up and displayed a different form when they stretched their lead to as much as 17 points.

PLDT’s defensive efficiency was evident after the opening frame as they only limited Farm Fresh to nine points, their lowest-scoring output so far in the ongoing All-Filipino Conference.

With the disappointing first set outcome, PLDT just sucked the life out of the Foxies and continued to dominate in the following frame.

Despite committing several unforced errors in the early moments of the second set, the High-Speed Hitters made it up in the final seven possessions of the frame as they swept all scores to cap off their 2-0 lead with a 25-13 win.

A different Farm Fresh squad entered the third set after their quick 1-2 back row plays for Trisha Tubu started to connect.

With Tubu’s offense finally clicking for Farm Fresh, the young squad kept themselves within striking distance and had the chance to take a set but the mighty Savannah Davison denied any comeback attempts after saving PLDT with her crucial attacks.

Davison once again topped the High-Speed Hitters with 21 points built from 17 successful attacks to go alongside three blocks and a service ace.

Backstopping Davison was veteran middle blocker Majoy Baron who contributed 11 points derived from seven successful attacks, two blocks, and two service aces.
