The PLDT High-Speed Hitters re-entered the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference winning column after blanking the Capital1 franchise, 25-13, 25-15, 25-16, on March 9, 2024, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
After a disappointing straight sets loss against the Petro Gazz Angels several days ago that tainted their clean PVL record, the High-Speed Hitters were just eager to get back on track and pummeled one of the newest teams in the All-Filipino Conference.
From the get-go, it was clear that PLDT wanted to execute their offensive game sets to perfection and fed their main outside hitter Savannah Davison who was electric in the scoring department.
Davison then paid off the trust of his coaching staff and teammates after leading the way offensively with 22 big points derived from 19 successful attacks.
The athletic spiker immediately posted tons of problems to Capital1 after her signature cross-court attacks were unstoppable midway through the second frame.
What was impressive is that Davison only needed an hour to tally the huge amount of points alongside nine excellent digs.
Capital1 attempted to salvage one final run after scoring their highest offensive output in the third and final set but PLDT officially shut their door after the duo of Dell Palomata and Erika Santos stepped up.
“Yun naman yung lesson, na kailangan naming i-recover agad. Itong win ngayon yung result nung cinorrect namin nung last game,” said PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort.
With the win, the High-Speed Hitters just improved their PVL win-loss record to 3-1 and will look for its fourth victory on March 19, 2024, against the formidable Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
