Radio Broadcaster Elected as 89th NPC President

BACOLOD CITY – Mark Salanga of Aksyon Radyo was elected as the 89th president of the Negros Press Club (NPC) during the General Assembly and Election of Officers held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the NPC office in Bacolod City.

Salanga secured 91 votes, defeating Eric Tenerife of K5 Radio, who garnered 51 votes.

Incumbent NPC President Erwin Delilan was nominated for re-election but declined the nomination, leaving the contest between Salanga and Tenerife.

“I have done my best,” Delilan said.

Prime Tejida of RMN was elected vice president. Other officers include Lourd John Diaz as secretary, Nona Magbanua of Aksyon Radyo as treasurer, and James Toga as auditor.

The elected board of directors comprises Eden Aboso of Aksyon Radyo, Merlinda Pedrosa of SunStar, Nico Delfin of Digicast, and Maureen Soliguen of FMR.

The newly elected officers will assume their positions on March 1, 2025.

In his President’s Report, Delilan highlighted his administration’s accomplishments, including registering the NPC with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He also reported that the NPC building was renovated through the support of Bacolod Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya.
