ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 48-year-old farmer facing a rape charge was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Ivisan, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as Danilo Tupaz Diestro of Sitio Mahulak, Brgy. Ilaya-Ivisan, Ivisan.
The Ivisan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Anti-Criminality Team (PROACT) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz served the warrant of arrest against Diestro.
Diestro is accused of rape in Criminal Case No. C- 49-21.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Roxas City Regional Trial Court Branch 18 Judge Ignacio Alajar on February 15, 2021.
Diestro is presently detained at Ivisan police station as he was not allowed to post bail.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man wanted for theft was also nabbed Tuesday afternoon at Barangay Cagay here.
Arrested was Vincent Ambong who was charged for violation of Article 308 under the Revised Penal Code.
The arrest warrant was issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 1 Judge Jennie Ann Tayag Logronio in Roxas City.
A PHP8,000 bail was recommended for Ambong’s temporary liberty. He is presently detained at Roxas City police station.
