BACOLOD City- A village chief here is facing charges for not participating in the business one-stop shop (BOSS) program of the city government.
Atty. Sammy Montoyo, executive assistant of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, confirmed to Daily Guardian on Friday that if given the go signal, he will file cases against Tangub Barangay Captain Noli Villarosa.
He said Villarosa sent a letter saying that they will not participate in the BOSS program which aims to ease business permit applications and renewals.
Montoyo said that the city legal office is preparing a reply to Villarosa.
“If given a clearance by the mayor I will file a case as precedence. I will make it a test case for violation of Republic Act 11032 (Ease of Doing Business Law).
The BOSS opened on Jan. 2 at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), and will run until Jan. 20.
