The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) revealed the Gilas 12-man lineup that will compete against Indonesia in the first window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifier.
A mix of veterans and young guns, the roster will be led by newly named team captain Kiefer Ravena and his brother Thirdy who was part of the last pool before the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Consisting the young guns are UP’s Juan Gomez de Liaño, Ateneo’s Dwight Ramos, and PBA rookies’ Isaac Go and Matt Nieto.
Meanwhile, the veteran pack will be led by Gilas mainstays Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, Poy Erram, Abu Tratter, CJ Perez, and Gilas first-timer Justin Chua.
Those who were cut from the previous pool were Javee Mocon, Jaydee Tungcab, and Rey Suerte who are all playing in the small forward position.
“The SBP extends its appreciation to all the players who were part of the pool for all the hard work they put in. We also thank the PBA teams that selflessly released the players requested by our coaching staff,” SBP president Al Panlilio said.
Gilas Pilipinas and the Indonesian national team will square off this February 23, 2020, at Jakarta, Indonesia.
