Bobby Ray Parks Jr. is aiming to help the TNT Katropa in all sorts of ways that he can, and that includes serving as the defensive anchor of his squad.
In a tweet he posted on April 20, 2020, Parks Jr. said “I’m going for Defensive Player of the Year. Yes I said it. Goal set. Now continue to work.”
Known for his offensive prowess since his UAAP days, Parks Jr. said that having a consistent defense to balance your offense is always needed if you want to step your game up as a player.
Parks Jr. made it known that he can be a reliable defender upon entering the PBA where he averaged 1.4 steals per game in his stints with Blackwater Elite and TNT.
Built with a solid upper body and possessing quick lateral speed, Parks Jr. made it clear that he is one of the top-tier defenders in the league, easily reading passing lanes for an easy steal.
Sean Anthony of the Northport Batang Pier won the 2019 PBA Defensive Player of the Year.
