After the PH women’s national squad, the men’s Rebisco PH team is ready to have a decent run in the 2021 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.

The Dante Alinsunurin-led volleyball team are ready to defy the odds once the tournament proper kicks off in Thailand.

“We always focus on team effort in every game. It is very important for us to compete to sustain the gains of our men’s volleyball program,” Alinsunurin said.

However, the team will be without two of their best players, Marck Espejo and Bryan Bagunas.

The PH men’s dynamic duo are currently in Japan as Asian imports in the volleyball professional league and will join the team once the conference will be over.

Despite their absence, coach Alinsunurin and the rest of the staff are confident they can compete with the other teams with their current roster.

Leading PH is national team staple John Vic De Guzman as team captain together with Rex Intal, Mark Alfafara, Ricky Marcos, Ish Polvorosa, Jessie Lopez, Kim Malabunga, Francis Saura, Josh Retamar, and Jao Umandal.

Meanwhile, national team veteran Ysay Marasigan will be joining the team and first-timers Nico Almendras, Manuel Sumanguid, and JP Bugaoan will also play.
