Retooled Community Support Program launched

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Gov. Bong Lacson led the launching of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) TV Aralan Series to 52 additional barangays in the province that were cleared of rebels.

The activity was held at the Capitol Social Hall and attended by mayors, barangay officials, and DILG officers

Each of the 52 barangays received television sets with learning modules.

The modules will guide the barangays in crafting their development plan; it also contains the government peace and development programs and projects that they could avail.

Board Member Juvy Pepello, who is also the President of Liga ng mga Barangay-Negros Occidental Chapter; Roselyn Quintana, OIC Provincial Director of DILG-Negros Occidental; and Maria Fatima Daiz, Cluster Head of DILG Negros Occidental, among others, were also present in the activity.

The RCSP TV Aralan Series is a program of the DILG Region in partnership with the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).

Last December 8, 2020, the same program was also launched with the first batch composed of 25 CTG-cleared barangays in a ceremony held at L-fisher Hotel in Bacolod City.

Gov. Lacson said that the RCSP Program is appropriate and suitable in the provincial government’s quest to strengthen the community support initiatives, and it is expected to bring more development in conflict-affected communities.

He also said that the program is highly instrumental in the aim to inform and educate the people, particularly in remote areas about the government’s programs and projects. (Capitol PIO)
