The Pavia Municipal Police Station has submitted its investigation report to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) 6, recommending the cancellation and revocation of the driver’s license of the suspect in a hit-and-run incident that killed a cyclist in the Iloilo town.

Major Dadje Delima, Pavia police chief, noted that the LTO would issue a show cause order to the driver, and it remains up to the agency to act on the recommendation.

The report also requested information from LTO-6 on the owner of the BMW Z3 sports car involved in the June 1 incident.

“The LTO-6 might not disclose the driver’s identity because of the Data Privacy Act,” Delima said, acknowledging that the inquiry was procedural.

The report, submitted on the morning of June 6, detailed the facts of the incident and concluded with a recommendation to revoke and cancel the suspect’s driver’s license.

Additionally, Delima said that they plan to file charges for murder, frustrated murder, and malicious mischief against businessman Rudolph ‘Bobot’ Chavez dela Rosa.

The survivor identified Dela Rosa when shown his picture at the hospital.

Police are also investigating the potential criminal liability of the driver’s two companions, whose identities remain unknown.

Police checked the suspect’s last known addresses in Calinog, Iloilo; Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City; and Deca Homes in Pavia town but did not locate him.

However, they believe the suspect is still in Iloilo.

The incident that killed 33-year-old Rave, a call center agent, and injured his common-law wife, 23-year-old She, may not be just a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injury.

Witnesses claimed the driver intentionally hit the couple.

The victims were traveling from Barangay Oñate-de Leon, Mandurriao, Iloilo City to their rented house in Deca Homes, Barangay Balabag, Pavia, around 9 p.m. on June 1.

The sports car hit She’s leg while she was riding behind Rave on a bicycle. After an altercation, the driver allegedly made a U-turn and intentionally struck the couple again.

Reports indicate that She survived because Rave pushed her to safety, but he later died from head injuries.
