A vehicular incident involving two motorcycles claimed the life of a 21-year old man at Concepcion, Iloilo on Dec 26, 2020.

Jimmy Sicad, a resident of Assumption Village in Barangay Bacjawan Sur, Concepcion, did not survive the mishap.

His back rider, 14-year-old Jamilla Sicad Cabilao, also a resident of the said place, was injured but survived the incident.

Staff Sergeant Mark Gregory Barbo, Concepcion PNP traffic investigator, said the other motorcycle’s driver and backrider were also injured

He identified them as Adrian Jake Asturias, 28, a habal-habal driver, and his passenger, Aiza Garcia, 24, both residents of SM Care Village, which is also located in Bacjawan Sur village.

Police reports said that Sicad was driving a Yamaha EZ motorcycle when he tried to overtake another vehicle at around 1:20 p.m. Saturday at Barangay Poblacion.

But he lost control of the wheel and spun before colliding with a Pinoy 125 motorcycle driven by Asturias.

Barbo said Sicad could have been speeding when the incident happened.

All riders were thrown out of their motorcycle.

All of them were not wearing crash helmets, Barbo said.

They were all brought to Sara District Hospital but Sicad was pronounced dead on arrival.

Cabilao was later transferred to a hospital in Iloilo City for further treatment.
