Filipino superstar guard RJ Abarrientos continued his consistent offensive display in the 2022-2023 Korean Basketball League (KBL) after leading the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus to a 92-81 win over the Suwon KT SonicBoom squad last December 8, 2022.
Abarrientos carried the offensive load for the Ulsa Hyundai in the crucial stretch of the fourth quarter to end up with 22 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.
The young Gilas Pilipinas cadet shut down Suwon KT’s attempt at a comeback in the last five minutes of the final frame and scored the key baskets that protected their lead.
Abarrientos also cashed in four shots from the three-point territory and spearheaded Ulsan Hyundai’s early offensive assault.
Aside from his offensive masterclass, the former Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws super rookie orchestrated his team’s plays to perfection.
Abarrientos’ on-point offensive executions involved his other teammates to score with four of them reaching the double-digit mark.
Gauge Prim had 18 points, Ham Ji Jun contributed 17, while Lee Woo Seok and Seo Myung Jin each scored 12 points that capped off Ulsan Hyundai’s balanced attack.
Abarrientos’ solid all-around performance also led his team to back-to-back wins and just reached their 11th total win in the ongoing season.
This is only one of Abarrientos’ dazzling performances in the KBL after putting on a show against Seoul one month ago.
Abarrientos buried six three-pointers on his way to a 23-point performance alongside six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
