Police in Bago City, Negros Occidental are probing the alleged robbery hold-up incident that victimized a driver of a softdrinks dealership in Barangay Lag-asan last Monday.
Police Lieutenant Joseph Jaro, deputy police chief of Bago City Police Station, said they were confused on the statement of 41-year-old Joemar Cortez, who alleged that two unidentified men robbed him of his P7,000 sales collection and stabbed him in the neck while he was on his way home.
Jaro said Cortez alleged that the suspects counted the money in front of him and they figured in a commotion before they fled.
But residents in the area claimed that no commotion happened in the area.
“Kung mang hold-up ka maisip ka pa kwarta kag may ibilin ka pa, nga gadali ka gani kay basi maabtan ka,” Jaro said.
Jaro also said that Cortez walked too far to ask for help, when there were houses meters away from where he left his multi-cab after the alleged hold-up.
Jaro said they doubted if indeed the victim was stabbed, considering the wound he got.
Despite this, Jaro said they accommodated his concern and will have it investigated.
