Rookie cops caught drinking get dressing down

Several rookie police officers are under investigation after they were caught drinking liquor inside a PNP camp in Iloilo province.

But aside from the probe, the 45 officers from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) got a dressing down from no less than Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan.

“For two hours, they got the worst tongue lashing from Brigadier General Pamuspusan,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesman, said.

“And up to now, they’re still being punished,” she said.

The controversy erupted after photos of the 45 cops drinking inside the headquarters of the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company at Camp Jalandoni in Barangay Zerrudo, Sara town circulated in social media.

The drinking session happened Saturday after the closing and awarding ceremony of the RSSF’s 2020 Sports Festival.

When Pamuspusan learned of the incident, he immediately ordered all officers in photos to report to the PRO-6 headquarters in Iloilo City on Monday.

The 45 RSSF personnel are part of the 310 rookie policemen taking the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC).
