What seemed to be University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers’ last hope just vanished away after emerging star and Rookie of the Year Mark Nonoy also confirmed his departure from the squad.

Following their team’s disbandment due to the Sorsogon practice bubble fiasco, UST’s prized guard Nonoy also confirmed he will be leaving and was one of the last to make the jump after sources speculated that the leftie will be staying with the yellow and white.

The former superstar of the Hua Siong Red Phoenix of Iloilo took the league by storm and was the perfect fit for coach Aldin Ayo and his ‘mayhem offense.’

The 5’8’’ Negrense proved his doubters wrong and showed that he belonged with the big boys after posting impressive averages of 11.11 points, 3.83 rebounds, and 2.78 assists per contest.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako ng buong puso sa buong UST community, na binigyan nyo po ako ng opportunity na ipakita po kung anong galing meron ako and I’m very thankful sa lahat ng coaching staff lalong-lalo na po sa kay coach Aldin Ayo na nagtiwalang kumuha sakin mula sa province to Manila at nagbigay sakin ng kumpiyansa pag dating sa court at sa pag guide nya sa akin kahit off the court upang maging mabuting tao,” said Nonoy.

Nonoy confirmed his departure a day after news broke with multiple sources reporting that he was already finalizing his transfer from UST to DLSU.
