ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police have identified persons of interest in connection with the killing of businessman Romulo Pajonar at his store, authorities said on Thursday, May 2.
Roxas City Police Chief, Lt. Francisco Paguia, announced plans to file a murder case against the suspects responsible for the brutal attack on Pajonar. The police have obtained video footage from CCTV cameras, which, according to Paguia, is corroborated by witnesses.
The incident occurred inside Pajonar’s stall at the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center during the early hours of Wednesday, April 24. Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, an information officer, reported that Pajonar, 61, from New Road Barangay Banica, was found deceased, with visible blood stains.
Rosette Pajonar, the victim’s wife, described discovering her husband’s body behind their store, amidst sacks of rice. She noted that the day’s sales proceeds, which had been stored in a bag, were missing, suggesting a robbery might have occurred.
“The disheveled state of their merchandise led us to believe the stall had been ransacked,” she said, indicating potential robbery as the motive for the intrusion.
Authorities are considering the possibility that Pajonar resisted his assailants, which might explain the nature of his injuries. The ongoing investigation points to robbery as the primary motive behind the killing.
