ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The city government has placed Brgy. Dayao here under extreme enhanced community quarantine after another resident of the village tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said Dayao will now be considered a Red Zone where home quarantine will be strictly observed as the residents are now considered persons under monitoring (PUM).

PUMs are individuals who travelled to places with cases of Covid-19 or were exposed to a positive case and are asymptomatic.

The mayor said that the sitio or the sub-village where the COVID-19 positive resident resides will be closed while transportation will also be suspended and guarded by the police or army personnel.

Dadivas assured the residents of Dayao that they will be provided with necessities.

A 25-year-old male from Dayao village here was the fourth Capiceño and the second person from Roxas City to test positive for COVID-19.

According to Dadivas, the patient traveled to Metro Manila and arrived in Roxas City on March 14, 2020.

Dadivas mayor said the man was in stable condition and asymptomatic, meaning he had no symptoms of the ailment.

Despite being asymptomatic, the patient is in quarantine at Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.

Health officials here conducted contact tracing of all persons who were exposed to the patient and they are now under home quarantine.

Last week, a 60-year-old woman also from Dayao was the first casualty of COVID-19 here. The fourth case here had close contact with the woman.
